Scientific study

An interesting study was conducted at the University of Ottawa by Tala Alandejani, MD on the effects of Sidr and Manuka honey on the deadly MRSA bacteria. MRSA causes infections in various parts of the body and is usually resistant to common antibiotics, making it very dangerous.

The study tested the two types of honey on several different types of bacteria, one of which was MRSA. Sidr honey was found to be 73% effective in killing the bacteria, while Manuka honey was found to be 63% effective in killing it. When tested against another type of bacteria, MSSA, Sidr honey was 63% effective, while Manuka honey was 82% effective.
